Healthy Life, ealthy Choices (Bamenda, 2026)
Today was another beautiful, high-energy session with over 30 young girls and boys in Mankon, Bamenda. We gathered to learn, connect, and build a truly period friendly world for every young girl and woman.
We broke down the myths surrounding menstruation, openly discussed body changes, and used fun stories and role-plays to teach them how to stand strong against peer pressure and social media trends.
This time around, we also brought boys into the program to be part of the show! The boys received vital knowledge on how men can support the Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) campaign by understanding the biological facts of the menstrual cycle. Replacing harmful myths with empathy, they learned how to protect their sisters, classmates, and peers from teasing or embarrassment. From practical acts of kindness like helping a stained girl instead of shaming her, and seeing menstruation as a normal and healthy part of life. These young men are stepping up to support and ensure girls manage their periods with pride and dignity.
A massive thank you to our incredible facilitators, Ms. Achem Eviaya Ms. Bih Chi , and Coach Lanjo, who kept every single participant fully engaged and inspired. We also remain deeply grateful to our Executive Director for visioning and making this impactful day happen.
